The origin

Every company starts with a problem. Mine started in school, when I couldn't find crisis support for a close friend in time.

That moment became TadHealth. We guide districts through a reimbursement landscape many considered too complex for education systems to manage, so schools can keep care in place for the students who need it.

Along the way I've become an advocate for youth behavioral healthcare access as other states weigh similar models.

On building

What I believe as a founder.

  1. 01

Build from a problem you've lived.

The best companies start with a gap you've seen firsthand.

  2. 02

    Go where the complexity is.

Many considered school mental health reimbursement too complex to manage. That's exactly why it's worth solving.

  3. 03

Build for how customers actually work.

Our tools are built around how school districts operate, not the other way around.

  4. 04

    Compete like an athlete.

The number of things that carried over from hockey into building a business is striking. Hard work, communication, resilience, teamwork, and culture make teams great. They make companies great, too.

The proof: TadHealth

Making school-based care sustainable.

How I was built

The chapters before the company.

Chapter 1 / The competitor

Professional hockey

I came up through Shattuck-St. Mary's, played junior hockey with the Green Bay Gamblers (USHL) and was a student-athlete at Hobart and William Smith Colleges, where I earned a B.A. in American Studies and Entrepreneurial Studies.

I played my first pro games in 2018 with the Norfolk Admirals, the Nashville Predators' minor-league organization, then signed to play in France's Ligue Magnus for Les Jokers de Cergy-Pontoise and the Spartiates de Marseille through 2020.

Chapter 2 / The first ventures

The TAD Project & LegalMe

While still playing, I founded The TAD Project in 2018, a 501(c)(3) nonprofit that helps friends and family navigate mental health crisis moments. It was a finalist in the 2018 Stu Lieblein '90 Pitch Contest.

In 2020 I founded LegalMe, offering startup legal packages and structure for new companies. Ed tech, legal tech, health tech: I've been building ever since.

Chapter 3 / The student of people

USC Dornsife: M.S., Applied Psychology

I studied applied psychology, including organizational development, while building the first version of TadHealth. I was accepted into the USC Viterbi Startup Garage, which incubated the company and gave it early funding.

What is the Career and Education Impact of Mental Health Services Being Provided to Students in K-12 and Early Childhood Education Settings?

An interview study with California school professionals, anchored in California's Youth Behavioral Health Initiative (CYBHI). It recommends sustained financial support, streamlined digital solutions, and paired clinician–wellness coach models.

  • Services grew after the pandemic.
  • Professionals linked services to improved academic and career outcomes.
  • Funding is a critical driver, and gaps in delivery persist.
Chapter 4 / The builder

Founder & CEO, TadHealth, since 2021

TadHealth grew out of The TAD Project. Our mission is to reduce the steps to care. We've raised multiple financing rounds. Our seed round was led by Halcyon Venture Partners, with participation from the USC Viterbi School of Engineering Venture Fund. Today we're a leading technology partner supporting California's Children and Youth Behavioral Health Initiative.
